Becoming Iris: Basic Stuff and Meeting the Founder.

Welcome to Becoming Iris!

Becoming Iris is my Sims3 Rainbow Legacy loosely based on Greek mythology. It is a rainbow legacy meaning that each generation must visibly represent each color of the rainbow, the last name coming from your language's word for rainbow and each first name having something to do with the color of the generation.

I'm actually American, so yeah, a rainbow legacy with the typical last name would have been boring. Instead I am reaching back to my family's roots and using Greek colors and names.

The Generations:
  • Kitrinos.....yellow
  • Portokali.....orange
  • Kokkinos.....red
  • Mov.....purple
  • Ble.....blue
  • Tyrkouaz.....turquoise
  • Prasinos.....green
  • Asvestis.....lime
  • Mavros.....black
  • Lefko.....white

This legacy is also going to be a matriarchy, meaning that only girls can inherit (unless no girl child is born) but I'm also playing that only females can move in and only when a boy is forced to inherit. The reasoning for this rule will be apparent once the legacy starts since the family cannot move from their home lot.

This is a screenshot of our lovely founder Kitrinos Iris, representing in name, hair color, and clothing the color yellow.

The last name Iris comes from the Greek goddess Iris who was Greek mythology's personification of the rainbow. She was a messenger to the gods and was the link between them and the Gods. If you want to know more, here is the wikipedia page for easy learning. I considered making Kitrinos a fairy to get the wings, but decided against it. Instead, we're going to aim for the last generation *The White Generation* to be a fairy.

Iris was also a goddess of the seas and I tried picking personality traits for Kitrinos that would push that. Kitrinos loves to swim, has a good sense of humor, loves the outdoors, is good, and is friendly. Her ambition in life is to become an astronaut.
